The earliest recording of activity of the YMCA in Geelong was in 1868 with concerts, lectures and discussion groups. From this period to till the Association was officially established in Geelong in 1953 and became an incorporated association in 1957.

YMCA Geelong currently own 3 key facilities, Newtown Stadium (Gymnastics and Court Sports) North Geelong, YMCA Camp Wyuna at Queenscliff and manage Bannockburn Recreation Centre & Bannockburn Community Sports Stadium in partnership with the Golden Plains Shire.

YMCA Geelong also operates a range of community programs and services within the City of Greater Geelong.

We require all people applying for staff or volunteer positions to undergo a screening process prior to appointment, and successful applicants must comply with the YMCA’s Safeguarding Children and Young People Policy. Successful applicants will also be required to undergo a police check, hold a valid working with children check, and will receive training relevant to their role.
