Joel Williamson

Joel grew up in Pennsylvania in the USA and graduated from Shippensburg Area Senior High School prior to attending Millersville University to study Marketing and Communications while participating in a number of bands, music and performance groups. While at Millersville University, I was given an opportunity to move to Australia to play music and volunteered with a youth work organisation for a few years from 2001-2005 and fell in love with Australia the country and an Australian over this time.
Joel joined Godfrey Hirst 10 years ago in the role of Commercial State Sales Manager in WA and then asked to join the Product Development team in Geelong. After five years at GH in Perth, Joel progressed to the National Commercial Sales Manager and the company relocated our family to Geelong.
Joel oversees product and sales strategy for the commercial interests of GH.
“My family have been actively involved with the YMCA in Geelong since moving into the region with our children participating in gymnastics and basketball. I have played sports throughout my life and I attribute my current success to having strong mentors and great opportunities throughout my early years allowing me to figure out good sportsmanship, perseverance, self-development and dedication. I am looking forward to contributing to providing these same opportunities for coming generations at the Y”.
Joel joined the Y Board in 2022.
