The Centre Coordinator will be responsible for the daily operation of the Bannockburn Recreation Centre and Bannockburn Community Sports Stadium. Any policy decisions or action that are likely to have significant impact on staff and customers are required to be managed in consulted with the YMCA of Geelong CEO.

The position of Bannockburn Centre Coordinator will work 30 hours per week during school terms and up to 12 hours per week during School holidays.

The position predominately requires the Centre Coordinator to provide customer service and duty management, with the ability to be able to directly deliver programs proposed from the sites, the likes of basketball, netball, rookie sports, gymnastics, indoor soccer, and group fitness. It is a requirement of the position to act as the Bannockburn Recreation Centre duty manager when rostered.

This Bannockburn Centre Coordinator position is associated with contract for Bannockburn Recreation Centre and Bannockburn Community Sports Stadium with the Golden Plains Shire. If YMCA Geelong is unsuccessful with the tender this position will not be continued with YMCA Geelong.

  • Human Movement, Physical Education Degree, Level 1 Basketball/Netball Coach or equivalent
  • Recreation Management
  • Certificate IV in Fitness

Essential (must hold or be willing to obtain)

  • Level 2 First Aid HTL004 and maintain every three years’ qualification
  • Current CPR HLTAID 001 and maintain annual qualification
  • Current Driver’s License
  • National Police Record Check – maintained every 3 years
  • Working with Children Check-Employee Card – maintained every 5 years
  • Satisfactorily completed Safeguarding Children and Young People Online Course – maintained every 3 years and
  • Annual Safeguarding Children and Young People update training
