What you need to know

  1. Vaccinations – Proof of Vaccination for all patrons and members over 16years
  2. Spectators – Not permitted at this stage for Newtown/North Geelong A guardian is permitted for children under 6 at Bannockburn Recreation Centre
  3. Conditions of Entry - These have been updated in line with Directions for re-opening our facilities.

Classes Restarting

Recreational Gymnastics Program classes recommence as of this coming Monday 1st November 2021. Your child is enrolled into their pre centre closure class level, on the same day and at the same time slot. If this has slipped your mind, you can check these details by logging into your customer portal click here. Exceptions: unfortunately, due to coach availability several classes will have a delayed start of approximately two weeks. We will email affected families directly.

Direct Debit Payments for YMCA Gymnastic Club Members

Due to classes starting mid direct debit period, your first debit from your account will occur on Monday 1st November 2021 for classes that are scheduled between 01/11/2021 to 09/11/2021.
Your next direct debit will be on Wednesday 10th November and every second Wednesday thereafter.

Vaccinations

Conditions of opening indoors to a capacity of 150 people in our facilities is the mandate by Public Health Orders that all people age 16 years plus must be fully vaccinated or have a medical exemption.

Participant Proof of Vaccination Required for YMCA Gymnastic Club Members (over 16 years) Please provide proof of vaccination or medical exemption by Monday 1st November, this proof can be in the form of a COVID- 19 Digital Certificate or Immunisation Record or GP Medical Exemption Certificate a link has been emailed to members to upload evidence . Please check your emails.

Spectators

Under the current restriction levels spectators are not permitted on site. Unless, your child requires support or your child is of preschool age 3-5 years old, then we are able permit entry to one parent or guardian or career to attend with your child. Please note that parents, guardians and carers are required to be fully vaccinated, as per the Public Health Orders. They need to check into the facility via the Vic Services QR Code at the site entrance and show staff vaccination status.

Conditions of Entry to YMCA Facilities (YMCA Newtown Stadium, YMCA Arena, YMCA Bannockburn (Bannockburn Recreation Centre/ Bannockburn Community Sports Stadium) & Camp Wyuna)

  • All patrons must check in via the Services Victoria QR coded no matter how long they are staying
  • If you don’t have a smartphone please see staff to assist with alternative Check In process
  • Provide Proof of Vaccination will be asked to be sighted by all visitors, users groups, guests, contractors and couriers/delivery drivers (members will be asked to provide evidence on enrolment to reduce the need to ask every time you attend the facility) over the age of 16years.

  • Sanitise their hands on entry
  • Bring a water bottle, no direct drinking from water fountains is permitted
  • Wear shoes in and out of the facility
  • If possible members arrive appropriately dressed for their activity- limiting the use of the change rooms
  • Participants over the age of 12 years are required to wear a mask when not training i.e. entering the centre, going to change rooms etc.
  • 1.5 metre social distancing needs to be maintained
  • Newtown Stadium - Children under the age of 12 are to be walked to the front door and picked up from the front door. In addition, please do not drop participants off more than 5 minutes prior to their activity commencing, this will help us in meeting the foyer density limits.
  • North Geelong (The Arena) - Children under the age of 12 are to be walked up into the foyer on level one and picked up from the same location. Reminder, parents, guardians and carers dropping off gymnasts and coming into the building must be fully vaccinated. In addition, please do not drop participants off more than 5 minutes prior to their activity commencing, this will help us in meeting the foyer density limits.
  • Bannockburn - If a child is over 6 years of age accompany your child to the front door where a staff member will greet them and take them to their class. At the conclusion of the class the staff will accompany children to the exit doors to meet parents. Please Note under our Safeguarding Children requirements we will not let children leave the facility unaccompanied.
  • Camp Wyuna - Deliveries to the site will need to be pre-arranged by calling 52581656
