Maggie, Sport and Recreation Trainee

“I always wanted to work with children and I love sports too, so why not do both”

Maggie was welcomed to the Y in February 2022 as a casual Sports Coach; after completing secondary school, she was looking for an opportunity for permanent employment, which is when she saw the School Leaver Program opportunity.

Enjoying the work, and knowing this is where her passion lies, she applied for the School Leavers, Sport and Recreation role, available at Newtown Stadium.

Throughout the program, Maggie will work towards completing her Certificate IV in Sports Development, whilst gaining hands-on experience working as the Trainee Sport and Recreation Leader, alongside industry experts.
