Calling young voices from Corangamite Electorate
Apply now for the 2026 National Youth Parliament
YMCA Geelong is inviting young people from the federal electorates of Corio and Corangamite to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) for the National Youth Parliament program taking place in Canberra, August 2026.
The National Youth Parliament will bring together 150 participants aged 16–17 from every electorate across Australia for a transformative, five-day/four-night program held at Australian Parliament House and the Museum of Australian Democracy (Old Parliament House). All costs — flights, accommodation, transport and meals — are fully covered. No prior political experience is required; just curiosity, commitment and a desire to learn. EOIs close Friday, 21 November 2025.
“Young people in Geelong , Golden Plains and Surf Coast care deeply about issues like limited access to employment and education, significant challenges with mental and physical healthcare access, and social isolation. This program gives them the tools and the platform to be heard,” said Shona Eland CEO YMCA Geelong. “We’re encouraging applications from Corio and Corangamite electorate so our region’s young people’s voices help shape the national conversation.”
