Indigenous Voice to Parliament Referendum

Later this year the Australian people will vote in a referendum on including the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice, also known as the Indigenous Voice to Parliament or The Voice, in the constitution.

This will provide a federal advisory body in Australia to represent the views of Indigenous Australians, that is Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, from across the country.

The Y Geelong want to hear the views of our community and those First Nations staff and community members as we embark on the development of an organisational Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).

A RAP seeks to put in place actions around the core pillars of:

  • Relationships
  • Respect
  • Opportunities

RAPs provide tangible and substantive benefits for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, increasing economic equity and supporting First Nations' self-determination.

You can help our community via our survey here.

Survey closes April 30th
